- Posted Ryan D. Byrd's PowerPoint™ presentation on shielding a Strat™. The link is near the bottom of the page on the "Quieting the Beast"
modification. After shielding his guitar and potting the pickups in wax Ryan reported that the title of the modification should be changed to
"Unleashing the Beast." :)

- Posted the article by Phil D'Eon on shielding a bass. Phil did a fine job illustrating how to adapt the "Quieting
the Beast" shielding techniques to something other than a Strat™ or Tele™ – in this case a Marcus Miller
Signature Bass.

did a super job on the fully illustrated article. He submitted it as an MS Word document and I merely converted
it to a PDF for web distribution.

- Mike Richardson submitted a variation of his earlier modification and another modification. The last one uses a standard Fender Strat switch and
a DPDT push/pull pot for some interesting positions.
- Hastings, another forum member, has submitted another modification. This one uses stock Fender components.

common Allparts/WD Music switch, eliminating some confusion regarding the switch terminals.

- An easy method of trimming the foil from the back of the pickguard.
- Recommended using a digital camera (if available) to take pictures of the circuit before beginning.
- A fella named Frank provided some very welcome photographs of his Strat shielding project.
- Added a wiring diagram using the double-wafer (i.e. Allparts EP078) style of switch to the T-Riffic™ wiring diagram.

- Changed recommendation for isolation capacitor on shielding modification from 1uf to 0.33uf. A recent discussion on the rec.music.makers.guitar newsgroup brought it to my attention that a lot of gigging musicians don't or can't check the AC wiring. The capacitor was intended only for blocking DC from defective tube amps. The new value will provide some protection from AC.
